My Vision and Why My SOULano Mission
My story goes, as a real estate broker I was registering my business at the county seat in Fairfield. As I greeted the guard at the front desk, I looked up at the big Solano County Sign, I said it should be SOULano County the County With Heart and Soul, and he joyfully agreed. And so, SOULlanoCounty.com and SOULanoRadio.com were born. My Unity In Community Mission is to shine a bright light and celebrate the heart and soul of the county's people. The love, food, music, joy, communities, businesses, and organizations. In essence, the faces and places that make up the heart and soul of Solano. Having lived in Solano for twenty years, and selling homes in the entire Bay Area, I always exclaimed that Solano was the last bastion of affordable housing and the last-vast farmland available in the Bay Area. Plus, it's a perfect juxtaposition for commuting to San Francisco, Marin, Contra Costa, Napa, and Sacramento. What I value is derived from my love of all people and Solano's rich diversity warms my heart. However, Solano was shunned and overlooked for many decades, but now it's being postured for development. Solano County has produced many artists, musicians, and people of note. The heart and the musical success of artists like H.E.R and E40 of Vallejo let me see that the shun has gone to shine. Solano is the county with heart and soul. Fairfield and Travis Air Force Base
Fairfield is the County seat of Solano and the center heart geographically as well. Before 1810 the area had a rich history with native inhabitants that dated back five to six thousand years. And so, from 1810 its history has evolved. In the year 1856 Captain Robert H. Waterman laid out the townsite of Fairfield, named for his hometown in Connecticut. Nowadays it provides a plethora of nice new home developments. However, what developed greatly for the city was in 1942 the Air Force decided to build Travis Air Force Base AFB, the largest and most western Air Mobility Command installation in the U.S. Air Force. The population has grown and so to the base, with 394 buildings, and 1270 Military Housing Units, and sits on 6,350 acres. It oversees more passengers and cargo than any other Military air terminal in the United States. Fairfield is not only the County seat, but where we honor those with the heart to serve, our Veterans, stationed and serving at Fairfield's Travis Airforce Base.
Our Heart and Soul Communities
As a former radio talk show host for 14 years, I wanted to bring a voice to the county known as Solano with SOULanoCounty.com and all its goodness.
SOUL is defined as " emotional or intellectual energy or intensity, especially as revealed in a work of art or an artistic performance." Community is defined "as a feeling of fellowship with others, as a result of sharing common attitudes, interests, and goals." Together soul and community are what we share as people. When we set the goal of the common good for all, we can embrace our differences while we work together cognizant that we need each other. And when we work together, then we not just survive we thrive! It is my mission to shine a light on those who make Solano, SOULano the County with Heart and Soul. I believe God gave us three things to unite mankind, LOVE, FOOD, and MUSIC, and when we have all three we have a party! So like the song "Come on people now, smile on your brother everybody get together" with LOVE in our hearts for our fellow man, the FOOD we share for our soul, and the MUSIC of joy for us to dance to. Together we can smile on one another and make Solano the County with the Unity in Community we can celebrate with Heart and Soul for all!

- What was the last bastion of affordable housing in the San Francisco Bay Area, and the last of the vast held open farmland will be gone in a couple of decades. Before the gentrification of Solano goes into full swing, I want to shine a bright light on its people and communities that make SOULano the County with Heart & Soul!
