My story goes that, as a real estate broker, I was registering my business at the county seat in Fairfield. As I greeted the guard at the front desk, I looked up at the big Solano County Sign, and I looked at his smiling face, and I said it should be SOULano County the County With Heart and Soul, and he joyfully agreed. And so, SOULanoCounty.com and SOULanoPodcast.com were born. Why SOULanoCounty?  SOUL is spiritual, with emotional intellect and energetic intensity. A passion revealed through art, music, and food, with inspiration and fervor. My Unity In Community Mission is to shine a bright light and celebrate the heart and soul of the county's people. The love, food, music, joy, communities, businesses, and organizations. In essence, the faces and places that make up the heart and soul of SOULano. Having lived in Solano for twenty-three years and sold homes throughout the Bay Area, I always said that Solano was the last bastion of affordable housing and the last vast stretch of farmland in the Bay Area. Plus, it's a perfect juxtaposition for commuting to San Francisco, Marin, Contra Costa, Napa, and Sacramento. What I value is rooted in my love for all people, and Solano's rich diversity warms my heart. However, Solano was shunned and overlooked for many decades, but now it's being postured for development. Solano County has produced many artists, musicians, and notable figures. The heart and musical soul of successful local musical artists like H.E.R. and E40 of Vallejo have shown me that the SHUN has gone to SHINE. SOULano is the county with heart and soul.  As a former radio talk show host for 14 years and 24 years in Real Estate, I wanted to bring a voice to the county known as Solano. From radio broadcaster to internet broadcaster, I had a mission to shine a bright light on the best-kept county secret in the San Francisco Bay Area, and I founded SOULanoCounty.com and SOULanoPodcast.com to highlight all its goodness that has been well overlooked for its affordability and diversity until now! And so, I wanted a heart mission.

SOUL is defined as " emotional or intellectual energy or intensity, especially as revealed in a work of art or an artistic performance." Community is defined "as a feeling of fellowship with others, as a result of sharing common attitudes, interests, and goals."  Together, soul and community are what we share as people. When we set the goal of the common good for all, we can embrace our differences while we work together cognizant that we need each other. And when we work together, then we not just survive, we thrive! It is my mission to shine a light on those who make Solano, SOULano, the County with Heart and Soul. I believe God gave us three things to unite mankind: LOVE, FOOD, and MUSIC, and when we have all three, we have a party!  

So like the song "Come on people now, smile on your brother, everybody get together, try to love one another right now, right now!" with LOVE in our hearts for our fellow man, the FOOD we share for our soul, and the MUSIC of joy for us to dance to. Together we can smile on one another and make Solano the County with the Unity in  Community that we can celebrate with Heart and Soul for all!
